- Sad news: Anthony “Bucky“ Bianco of CNYNLA fame died Monday at his home in Florida. I’ve linked back to my own post because I couldn’t find an obituary online.
- Of the 100 most loved companies in the world, two green industry giants make the list: John Deere and CAT. Number one? Disney, naturally, followed by Yahoo (via @Inbound_Agency).
- Related: Terry Tree is the Rochester Top 100’s #1 (via RBJ).
- RubyFrost apples debuted at farm markets across the state last week. - Via LandscapeOnline.com: Concept for Buffalo’s Outer Harbor Park Comes 125 Years After Olmsted’s Unrealized South Park Plan.
- The nation’s first public permaculture garden is being established at Conley Park in Ithaca.
- Confirmation and more details on the sale of Miller Nurseries to Stark Bros (from the RBJ).
- Can you name this plant? First correct answer (comments section, either at EarToTheGround.com or on the UGJ site) wins a PRIZE. It’s a tree, by the way.
- In closing, two from the New York Times: The art of the (tortured) Japanese garden mum.
- And: The Good-for-Nothing Garden. (Love his style!)
