Robot farmers; help wanted; plant art

2015-01-31 08.27.13Good morning! I’m writing this from the lobby of the Hairport ‘Ilton in snowy, snowy Portland Maine. Why? Turns out it’s not all that easy to get work done while sitting on the Tarmac. Anyway, I am here for a few days to visit my folks, hopefully, presumably, at their house about an hour north of here. We were saddened to hear of another loss to the WNY nursery industry this month—Elizabeth Flett of Seneca Greenhouse. Our condolences go out to Rick and the entire family.

Via our buddy Ken Estes: This Robot Might Take the Dirty Work Out of Farming. “Some jobs are so mind-numbing and backbreaking that no one with other options wants to do them. Cue the robots.” (They are kind of cute.)
